They didn't have the 64gb dual one in stock but 32gb should be enough surely. I got the Sandisk dual one with a USB C connection on one end and a USB A on the other, given my laptop only has USB C ports so I can at least rule out the C-A adaptor I'd had to use to connect the other stick to laptop causing any issues. However I read later that when you move on to the map updates they are about 25gb so I've just picked up a Sandisk 32gb stick from Argos. I was using a 16gb stick as Ford website said only required about 4gb. There is a website which is non Ford that many use and I'm sure someone will be along to advise you of it, as I'm under warranty I've not used it, think it cuts out the unzipping messing about. Wi-fi updating doesn't work for me, think Ford might have a bug in their system.ĭealer had tried to argue the Sync 3 system not covered in Ford Protect Gold warranty, which it clearly states it is, that's why I stood my ground when asked to pay. Told Ford HQ and they compensated me and apologised. I was asked to go collect my as now sorted they said cost was £240, I was most annoyed after only had the car 2 weeks and did not pay. Ford instructed me to book it in at dealer and they would contact dealer on what to do. Contacted Ford HQ as the website would not let me download again as Ford system now thought I was up to date. I went back to Ford dealer straight away they were not very helpful told me they never seen map EU4 15 before. I had exactly the same as you last year when I got my 2017 and it had those EU4 15. USB stick is SanDisk and purchased from Argos so I'd think genuine.
#Sync 3 update update
Thought about WiFi update but my driveway doesn't get car close enough to house to pick up any sort of reliable WiFi connection.

#Sync 3 update software
Is there some other usb port somewhere other than the armrest for these sort of updates? Or is my sync unit likely faulty? It says it's on software version 2.2 and build 16280 gracenote 1.1.1.794 (EU-0010) and navigation maps version EU 4 15. Tried removing and doing master reset on sync unit then reinserted usb once sync restarted but still doesn't respond at all. Rechecked ford instructions and says can take a few minutes to recognise usb drive so left in a bit but been about 20/30 mins now and still nothing. So tried other usb port and still nothing. So next stage entered car started engine and inserted usb stick into one of the ports in the armrest and nothing,no response by car sync system at all. I'm trying to update my sync 3 on my newly acquired 2017 Kuga and have followed Ford's instructions to the letter, downloading the Sync update offered from their website when entered my VIN, and unzipping the update onto a SanDisk usb flash drive formatted to exFat and confirmed the 3 correct files are present on the usb drive root directory and nothing else on the usb drive.
